Amazon Web Services has invited us as a partner company to participate in the IT Skills 4U initiative. The free program organized by AWS and the Union of Entrepreneurs and Employers is designed to support the employment of people of Ukrainian origin in the technology industry by organizing training courses that develop cloud skills related to AWS solutions.

How is the program implemented?

Students gain access to free online courses, virtual training by AWS instructors, classes in English and Polish, career counseling, and job placement support. Both individuals with very little technical experience and IT professionals can take advantage of the offer.

The program is supported by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, the Secretary of State for Digital Affairs of Poland and the Ministry of Family and Social Policy of Poland.

Participation of TT PSC specialists

Cloud specialists from Transition Technologies PSC led intensive training programs, followed by AWS Cloud certification, English and Polish language classes, mentoring, and access to job opportunities.

After completing the training block and passing the exam, program participants were able to participate in TT PSC recruitment for a three-month paid internship. We selected five of the most promising DevOps specialists, who deepened their knowledge under the guidance of our experts since June. Together they carried out a project focused on building a real device, a two-phase flow simulator, representing the use of Industrial Internet of Things technology. To achieve the goal, an infrastructure was built on AWS Cloud to handle data processing and device management, as well as an application using the React framework.

New skills and experiences

“One of the outstanding aspects of my stay here was the exceptional team and pleasant working environment. The people I had the opportunity to work with were not only knowledgeable but also very friendly, which made the experience enjoyable. I saw a significant improvement in my programming skills over the three months, which I attribute to the valuable work I was involved in.” – says one of the interns selected through the program.

The participants’ feelings were also positively influenced by the opportunity to work with new technologies such as AWS Serverless, IAAC and IOT, and Jira, a flexible schedule, attractive salary and a structured work system, such as setting tasks during daily meetings and code reviews.

In formal aspects, our partner Future Processing Ukraine provided invaluable assistance.

We are pleased that, thanks to Amazon Web Services, we have been given the opportunity to participate in a project that has had such a beneficial impact on the lives of many young talented developers and on the market for IT professionals.
